Job Description

About the role:

- Monitor, track, and analyse costs of various civil and mining projects against approved budgets and forecasts.

- Prepare cost control reports, dashboards, and variance analyses for project management and senior stakeholders.

- Assist in the preparation of project budgets, cost estimates, and financial forecasts in collaboration with Project Managers to ensure alignment with scope and schedule.

- Monitoring revenue and profitability across materials, labour, plant, equipment, and other project resources.

- Review project schedules in Microsoft Project or Primavera P6 and report on cost variances and schedule impacts.

- Accurately input, maintain, and reconcile financial data within commercial schedules, including cost structures and budget requirements, to support quoting, estimating, and bidding processes.

- Serve as the main point of contact for project cost management, maintaining CRM records, supporting audits, client reporting, and communication on cost-related matters.

- Lead change management and continuous improvement initiatives, mentor staff, standardize commercial procedures, and contribute to personal and team development within the organization.

Desired Skills and Experience

About you:

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Finance, Civil Engineering, orQuantity Surveyingrelated field.

- Minimum 5 years’ experience ascost controller oranalystwithin civil and mining construction projects.

- Demonstrated knowledgein project controls, pre-contracts, estimating, tendering roles within the civil sector is highly desirable

- Strong financial and commercial acumen with proven ability to analyse project costs, budgets, and profitability.

- Excellent proficiency in Ms Project, ERP, SAP, P6, and Budgeting Software systems.

- Ability to champion change, drive continuous improvement, and contribute strategically.
