Are you a dynamic, experienced town planner looking for a leadership role where you can drive growth and foster a high-performing team? A leading planning consultancy in Brisbane is seeking an experienced Principal Planner to oversee and manage planning activities, client engagement, business development, and team leadership within the Planning Business Unit.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead and manage planning operations, ensuring efficient workflows and high-quality output.
2. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and local councils.
3. Provide strategic planning advice and technical support on complex development projects.
4. Develop and mentor junior staff, fostering professional growth and ensuring the team's ongoing success.
5. Drive business development initiatives to grow the Planning Business Unit and align with the company's strategic objectives.
6. Oversee financial performance, ensuring project budgets are met and revenue targets are achieved.
7. Maintain and improve quality assurance processes to ensure work meets industry standards and regulations.

2. Excellent verbal and written communication, including the ability to negotiate and deliver presentations.
3. Analytical mindset with attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

5. Demonstrated ability to engage with clients and industry stakeholders, leveraging networking opportunities for business development.

Required Skills & Experience

1. 10+ years' experience in town planning and development, with a focus on development applications, master planning, and strategic land use planning.
2. Tertiary qualifications in Town Planning, with eligibility for membership with the Planning Institute of Australia (PIA).
3. Extensive experience in managing planning teams, with a deep understanding of Queensland planning legislation and local planning schemes.
