About the Role

Joining our Supported Independent Living (SIL) team, you will provide support to 3 people with disability living in shared housing in Mascot who enjoy rugby league, cooking, having a chat and going out for walks around their local neighbourhood.

The successful candidate will be experienced in supporting people with psychosocial disability, acquired brain injuries and dementia and will be passionate about and ready to be involved in active support and talking all things rugby league.

We are seeking applications from candidates for permanent part time positions. To be considered, you must be able to commit to a minimum of 54 hours per fortnight with a variety of shifts including short 3 hours shifts and active night shifts across a 24/7 roster.

Key Responsibilities

- Follow person-centred support and behaviour plans

- Facilitate client goal achievement through meaningful activities

- Maintain thorough record keeping

- Build positive relationships with clients, families and colleagues

- Advocate for client choice and control

Skills & Experience

- Experience working with people with disability

- Passionate about providing active support

- Previous experience working with mental health or psychosocial disabilities

- A current First Aid and CPR Certificate

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including a National Criminal History Record Check and obtain an NDIS Clearance.

- Permanent part time, stable and predictable rosters

- Active and chatty home, no manual handling or hoisting

- Base hourly rate from $34.58
