Boat Builder and Repairer / Teak Deck Builder

Location: Coomera, Australia. Sector: Building & Construction. Salary: $70,000.00 to $90,000.00 per annum

Teak Decks Pty Ltd. We’re a trusted supplier of high-end timber and synthetic components, proudly partnering with one of the country’s most prestigious boat manufacturers. As our business expands, we’re seeking skilled, motivated, and reliable Boat Builder and Repairer to join our talented team on the Gold Coast.

This is a hands-on role combining boat building with specialised marine deck building and synthetic flooring installation. While training is provided for marine-specific techniques, experience with timber work and tools is essential.

Tasks & Responsibilities

- Construct, fit out, and repair boats, including timber, fibreglass, and composite vessels.
- Build and install custom teak decks, including measuring, templating, caulking, sanding, and finishing.
- Interpret detailed drawings and specifications to ensure accurate and precise work.
- Operate woodworking tools and marine equipment safely and effectively.
- Repair structural components, including hulls, superstructures, bulkheads, and keels.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and maritime regulations.
- Collaborate closely with other trades and project managers to meet deadlines and quality standards.
- Maintain tools, materials, and workspaces in clean and safe condition.

Qualification & Experience

- Certificate III in Boat Building or 3 years of full-time work experience to replace qualification
- 12 months of full-time work experience as a professional Carpenter

- Confident in using power tools (routers, trimmers, drop saws, etc.)
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to read plans
- Strong time management and a reliable work ethic
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and take pride in high-quality work
