Senior Accountant/ Finance Business Partner

What you’ll do:

- Manage the month-end close process by preparing and reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and accounting records to ensure all financial reports are accurate and compliant.

- Prepare detailed monthly profit and loss statements as well as comprehensive balance sheet reconciliations to provide clear visibility into business unit performance.

- Ensure the accuracy of project transactions by reviewing work in progress each month and maintaining up-to-date project records for effective financial oversight.

- Perform intercompany reconciliations to guarantee consistency across business units and support consolidated reporting requirements.

- Analyze actual results against forecasts and budgets, providing insightful variance commentary that helps drive informed management decisions.

- Prepare monthly executive reporting packs for senior leadership, ensuring all key financial metrics are clearly communicated.

- Support monthly financial reviews with regional finance partners and executive managers by explaining variances and identifying key drivers of performance.

- Assist in the preparation of forecasts and budgets by collaborating closely with project managers to review bookings and project movements.

- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies while supporting both half-yearly and full-year external audit requirements.

- Identify opportunities for system and process improvements, document new procedures, support data migration projects, and assist team members in adopting new systems.

What you bring:

- A strong understanding of accounting principles and standards supported by practical experience in financial accounting roles spanning at least three years.

- Proficiency in using Oracle NetSuite for financial management alongside advanced skills in Microsoft Office 365 applications including PowerBI for data analysis.

- Experience managing month-end close processes including journal entry preparation/review, reconciliations, profit & loss statements, balance sheets, intercompany transactions, and WIP reviews.

- Demonstrated ability to analyze actuals versus forecast/budget with clear variance commentary that supports business decision-making at senior levels.

- Excellent communication skills enabling you to explain complex financial concepts clearly to both finance professionals and non-finance stakeholders alike.

- A methodical approach combined with strong attention to detail ensures accuracy across all aspects of financial reporting and compliance documentation.

- Proven time management abilities allowing you to prioritize tasks effectively during busy periods such as month-end or audit cycles.

- Experience supporting system migrations or implementing process improvements within finance functions is highly desirable.

- Professional integrity coupled with a proactive attitude towards problem-solving makes you a dependable member of any finance team.

- A degree in Finance or Accounting (or related field) along with CA/CPA qualification (or working towards) is required.
