What Youall Be Doing
Provide clinical management and treatment of patients in a SWSLHD facility under your care. This care will be provided within the clinical privileges granted by the CE on the advice of the SWSLHD Medical and Dental Appointments Advisory Committee. Assist in the provision of the Intensive Care service at Campbelltown and Camden Hospitals through medical management, clinical direction to and collaboration with other ICU and facility staff. The CMO provides high quality experienced clinical service to the Intensive Care Department. The personal development aim is to develop the skills and knowledge needed to operate independently as an Intensive Care Department medical practitioner. This can be achieved through structured and supervised observation of, exposure to, and management of patients, as well as participation in ICU education and quality assurance activities.

Campbelltown Hospital, a leading tertiary facility, offers a wide range of services including cardiology, maternity, palliative care, respiratory medicine, emergency medicine, and aged-care services. It also features specialised Mental Health and Cancer facilities. Camden Hospital complements these services by specialising in care for older persons with acute or chronic health conditions, including rehabilitation, palliative care, geriatric evaluation and management, and psychogeriatric care.

How to Apply

1. MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA).
2. Minimum 5 years postgraduate experience.
3. Proficiency in airway management, advanced resuscitation skills and in central venous and arterial line insertion.
4. Previous experience in the Intensive Care Department and wide range of medical experience, and in the assessment and management of Intensive Care patients.
5. Demonstrated commitment to continuing self-education and development.
6. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) including relevant computer skills.
7. Evidence of continuing professional development in Intensive Care Medicine (ie ALS, APLS, ELS course completion).
8. Evidence of ability to work cooperatively and effectively with other staff and practitioners and in a multidisciplinary health care team.
