The Position

As Chief People Officer (CPO), you will play a pivotal role as a member of the Executive Leadership Team, reporting directly to the CEO. This is a strategic and hands‑on leadership position, responsible for shaping and driving the people agenda across the Manufacturing Industry Skills Alliance (MISA). You will provide expert advice and stewardship on all aspects of organisational performance and culture, including leadership, staff engagement, capability development and organisational change initiatives.

Your remit covers the full employee lifecycle from attraction and selection, through development and retention, to departures ensuring MISA’s workforce capability needs are identified, addressed and sustained. You will lead the design and delivery of contemporary people strategies, policies and programs, fostering a culture of trust, collaboration, accountability and ownership. As a trusted advisor to the Board, CEO and colleagues on the Executive Leadership Team, you will provide high‑quality, impartial and timely counsel on current and emerging people and organisational management issues, considering associated risks and implications. You will also oversee workplace relations, negotiate workplace agreements, manage HR data and reporting systems and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and industrial instruments.

The CPO will mentor and develop a high‑performing, inclusive professional team, actively building capability to support current and future organisational success.
