Welcome to Ability Action Australia

We are one of the largest providers to the NDIS, supporting over 10,000 participants every year with the care they need, when and where it is needed. We have a multi-disciplinary team approach, building a quality support service around the needs and goals of our participants and their family.

Help us help others with life changing support that can improve their independence, access, development, health and wellbeing, and function.

We would love to hear from Speech Pathologists with all levels of experience that enjoy the flexibility of working in a range of settings including both a clinic setting and the community.

Job Description

About Us

We love nothing more than seeing our participants achieve their goals. We live and breathe capacity building, and empower participants by:

- Using a strengths-based approach to guide our assessment, goals and ultimately our intervention
- Using a combination of standardised and non-standardised assessment, curated to the participants needs to guide our clinical reasoning
- Delivering much needed speech therapy interventions to participants within the setting best matched to their goals, which could be at school, at home, at work or in the community, or in our clinic space
- Collaborating with our local multidisciplinary team of Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, Physiotherapists, Key Workers, and Behaviour Support Practitioners.

We have a diverse Speech Pathology team, based in our region, which is comprised of Southern Sydney to the Illawarra, who each have unique caseloads tailored to their own interests and passions. We currently have clinical caseloads covering areas such as early intervention (including infants 0-12 months and feeding), paediatrics, adults, dysphagia/swallowing, AAC and psychosocial disabilities.

On a personal level, we are a dynamic bunch of clinicians who exude a passion for disability. We want to see the best in each other, just as we do our participants. We have been known to go on long beach walks, test out our new technology or having a wine at a paint and sip, or the local pub. Babies, including fur babies, are always welcome in the office and are part of the team. Whether you are keen on coming out and spending time as a team, or your family life and home is your priority – there is a place for everyone

As you support many, we support you. We offer:

- A clinical caseload that you are passionate about and fills your cup Whether you're a paediatric SP, an adult SP, or like a mix of both – we make sure your caseload fits both your individual learning goals and passion areas
- Work flexibility – From 24 hours a week to full time, you select the hours and days that work best for you as an individual.
- Excellent remuneration – Industry leading salary + salary packaging + car allowance + laptop + smartphone + purchase leave.
- True work-life balance – The autonomy of setting your calendar, your way. Combine the convenience of working from home with time at our supportive hubs.
- Career progression – Access to ongoing training tailored to your interests and long-term goals combined with professional development opportunities through Ability Action Australia and our parent company, MedHealth.
- Continuous Professional Development – A generous CPD allowance and paid leave days to complete this.
- Passionate and positive culture – Be part of a purpose-driven team that believes in making a difference.
