About the role

The Graduate Podiatrist works as a part of a multidisciplinary team delivering culturally-responsive, safe and high-quality podiatry services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people within the Central Australian community.

The Graduate Podiatrist will support clients with diabetes-related foot complications and other lower limb pathology, practicing within their scope and receiving ongoing supervision from Senior Podiatrists. The Graduate podiatrist will work across the various primary health programs within the organisation; including Chronic Conditions, Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP), the National Disability insurance Scheme (NDIS), and Medicare, among others.

This role is primarily based in Mparntwe (Alice Springs), however outreach services and regular overnight travel to remote communities are inherent requirements of the role.

What are we looking for?

Someone to fit our team with the following requirements:

- Bachelor of Podiatry or equivalent tertiary qualification and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Hold a current first-aid and CPR Certificate in accordance with AHPRA registration or willingness to obtain.
- Knowledge of community-based podiatry service delivery with a multidisciplinary team, including an understanding of working with a broad range of clients from varying socioeconomic backgrounds who present with a variety of lower limb pathology.
- Understanding of the complexities of service delivery to remote Aboriginal communities.
- Willingness and ability to travel to and work in remote locations for up to a week at a time, including travel on light aircraft.
- Current driver’s license or ability to obtain.
- (Desirable) Is of Aboriginal descent; identifies as an Aboriginal person; and is accepted as an Aboriginal person by the Aboriginal community.
- (Desirable) Knowledge of Medicare, CHSP and NDIS funding requirements.
