The Opportunity

In this role, you will safely transport visitors and residents between Raymond Island and Paynesville.

Responsibilities

- Operate the ferry in a safe, timely and reliable manner, monitoring vehicles and patrons at all times.
- Conduct pre-start vessel checks and daily maintenance to ensure the ferry is clean and hazard-free.
- Collect applicable fares and check ferry passes.
- Provide excellent customer service and manage and de-escalate conflict when required.

This is a full-time, ongoing position based in Paynesville/Raymond Island.

We’re looking for someone with experience commanding a vessel and maintaining equipment, along with strong customer service skills and the ability to handle conflict.

Qualifications

Required: Current First Aid and CPR certificates (HLTAID011 and HLTAID009).

Preferred: Knowledge of traffic control (Stop/Go) and familiarity with the McMillan Strait and varying sea conditions; marine engineering knowledge.

Successful applicants will undertake a police check and pre-employment medical. You must be legally entitled to work in Australia.
