Overview
Lead Engineer Asset Management leads a diverse team of professionals and collaborates with other key staff to manage the balance of cost, performance and risk across Council's Water and Sewerage asset portfolio. The role is essential in the delivery of functions and responsibilities of the asset owner for the Water and Sewer Directorate and seeks to maximise the value of over $3B worth of Water and Sewerage assets for the community.
This is a permanent full-time position with a leaseback vehicle available for official duties and private use, or a vehicle allowance if a vehicle is not available.
About the role
Reporting to the Section Manager Assets and Planning, you will be responsible for the full range of water and sewer asset management functions, including the preparation of strategic asset management plans, guiding asset monitoring and reporting, and assisting in the delivery of major projects and renewal programs. The role also contributes to alignment with the NSW Government/'s Strategic Planning Assurance Framework for Local Water Utilities and other regulatory bodies. This position requires providing quality customer service and creating value for the community.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a diverse team of professionals in asset management for water and sewerage infrastructure.
- Prepare strategic asset management plans and support monitoring, reporting, and renewal programs.
- Deliver major projects and renewal programs in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Align asset management practices with regulatory frameworks and government guidance.
- Provide high-quality customer service and create value for the community.
Qualifications and experience
- A Degree in Engineering or related field OR demonstrated substantial experience in a similar role with ongoing professional development. Asset management accreditations are desirable.
- Extensive experience in planning and managing water supply and sewerage treatment and distribution infrastructure, with current knowledge of design, construction and operation of water systems.
- Understanding of engineering principles related to asset management and strategic planning of water and sewerage infrastructure.
- Demonstrated leadership behaviours, including communication, performance management, coaching and mentoring, diversity, and change management.
- Ability to build strong relationships and influence outcomes in the organisation.
- Salary range: $111.1k to $133.6k + 3.5% Civil Liability Allowance + 12% Superannuation. A market loading payment may apply for the right candidate based on skills and experience.
Working arrangements and benefits
- Permanent full-time role with a 9 day fortnight option.
- Hybrid and flexible working: 2 days from home and 3 days onsite.
- Location: Wyong Administration Building.
- Leaseback vehicle provided for official duties and private use; vehicle choice when available; or a vehicle allowance of $207.31 per week if no vehicle available.
