You will work closely with our other specialists in the Water Resources team predominantly on NSW projects, however you will also support the wider ANZ business. We are open to the location of this role including **Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne or Brisbane**.SMEC’s Water Resources team works across a diverse portfolio of projects including flood risk management, waterway management, urban water management and/or rural/irrigation water management. We have a solid pipeline of interesting and challenging projects and an excellent team culture where you will further develop broad capabilities.With a minimum of 6+ years’ experience, your core responsibilities include:* Technical assessments and design to support water resource management projects* Ensure that analysis and design tasks undertaken meet appropriate technical standards and the requirements of the client and SMEC* Proactively collaborate with appropriate team members, clients and stakeholders to maintain quality, timeliness and coordination of project deliverables* Apply project management principles in carrying out assigned tasks and accomplish project deliverables to the required standard in a timely manner.With a track record of achievement in a similar role, you will have gained your experience in an engineering design consultancy and have a passion for building trusted relationships to drive positive change and win new work.**Suitable applicants will have/be:*** Bachelor Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering* A Minimum of 6+ years' experience in water resources management and/or design* Experienced with a range of hydrology and hydraulic modelling and design software* Familiar with relevant Australian Standards* Be able to lead projects to get desirable outcomes* Be able to contribute to business development and industry activities* To have or be working towards obtaining CPEng status**What we offer:*** Flexible work arrangement to support work/life balance* Ethical client base* Opportunity to work alongside and be mentored by industry leaders* Professional Development Programs from graduates to leaders through mixture of inhouse programs and external courses as well as tertiary education financial assistance* Dynamic career pathways and opportunities to work on projects nationally and internationally* Purchased additional annual leave* Generous paid parental leave (primary and secondary)* Wellbeing benefits**How to apply**All applications must be submitted online.
