We currently have 1.5 FTE. CAHS is the leading paediatric healthcare service in Western Australia, with four service areas: Neonatology, Community Health, CAMHS, and Perth Children’s Hospital. Position Profile The Nurse Practitioner provides expert knowledge and high-level clinical service in collaboration with other health professionals to diagnose, treat and manage a patient’s health status in accordance with National legislation and regulation. The Nurse Practitioner works autonomously to perform advanced physical assessments, request and interpret diagnostic and screening investigations, initiate and manage complex healthcare requirements, initiate referrals to relevant health providers, and prescribe appropriate medications and other therapies. The Nurse Practitioner provides clinical leadership as appropriate and is responsible for developing standards of practice, initiating research, leading quality improvement activities, and implementing changes to clinical practice. The Nurse Practitioner practices at an advanced level within their scope of practice and is accountable for all care instigated and provided, in accordance with the NMBA Nurse Practitioner standards for practice.
