The Shire of Wandering is looking for a Senior Finance Officer to join our friendly, high-performing team. This is more than just a job—it’s a chance to make a real impact, contribute to a supportive workplace culture and enjoy the balance of meaningful work and a beautiful place to live.

What you’ll be doing:

- Partnering with the CEO to deliver statutory and financial management reports.

- Managing banking transactions, reconciliations and financial reporting.

- Processing assets, plant and associated transactions.

- Coordinating day-to-day financial operations.

- Leading audit preparation and ensuring compliance.

- Supporting and guiding the finance team with general accounting expertise.

- Providing backup support across finance and front counter services, including Australia Post.

What we’re looking for:

You’ll bring:

- A strong understanding of Local Government finance functions, standards and legislation.

- A Certificate IV or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or Business—or at least 2 years of experience in a similar local government role.

- A sharp eye for detail, a love for numbers, and a proactive, team-oriented mindset.

We offer:

- A competitive salary package of $72,207 – $75,464 per annum (based on qualifications and experience).

- Minimum 12% superannuation, with the potential to increase to 17%.

- 4 weeks’ annual leave and a commitment to your ongoing training and development.
