Our client is a large and well-known organisation, looking for an experienced Finance Officer to join their amazing team. This is a great opportunity to work within the education industry

**Your new role**
- Perform all operational tasks to ensure that financial transactions are processed and recorded in an accurate and timely manner in line with University policy, internal Financial Services procedures and all relevant legislation including taxation. Financial transactions include, but are not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, foreign currency transactions, credit notes, purchase orders, batch processing, creditor payments, customer receipting, receipting and cash allocations
- Monitor financial transaction electronic workflows and resolve such matters as may arise for all financial transaction related workflows such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets and Concur
- Maintain university financial support data within Financial Systems which include, but are not limited to user set up and maintenance, financial master data such as selection codes and cost centre maintenance, register of financial delegations
- Provide support to the University Schools/Areas on the financial transactions, Financial Systems and business processes
- Resolve queries from clients, staff and third parties proactively, tactfully, effectively and promptly
- Provide assistance and support to the Senior Finance Officer, Finance Services staff and other team members as required
- Perform key bookkeeping and control functions such as reconciliation of the clearing accounts as required
- Undertake other activities which the incumbent might reasonably be expected to do, and which are consistent with the accountabilities and responsibilities as listed above

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Demonstrate understanding of basic accounting principles, concepts and practices as well as the ability to analyse and problem solve and report on matters as they may arise
- Demonstrate experience in a computerised financial system environment, including Excel and numeracy, data entry and validation skills
- Proven ability to organise time and work activities according to prioritise and to meet deadlines
- Demonstrate ability to work autonomously and effectively as a team member
- Demonstrate commitment to providing a quality client service and continuous improvement to work practices
- Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
