This position is crucial in overseeing store operations, ensuring smooth workflow, and maintaining Foodland’s high standards of service and presentation.

Retail Manager – Foodland Hove | Hove, SA

Key Responsibilities
• Oversee the daily operations of the supermarket, ensuring smooth and efficient store performance.
• Plan and maintain optimal product mix and inventory levels, ensuring shelves are well stocked and visually appealing.
• Develop and implement purchasing and pricing strategies to maximise profitability while maintaining value for customers.
• Coordinate promotional campaigns, local marketing initiatives, and in-store merchandising to boost sales and enhance customer engagement.
• Supervise, train, and support staff to maintain high standards of customer service, teamwork, and workplace efficiency.
• Monitor financial transactions, including cash flow, point-of-sale records, and supplier accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Manage store budgeting and forecasting, contributing to operational cost control and performance improvement.
• Ensure the store environment complies with workplace health and safety, food safety, and hygiene regulations.
• Analyse sales trends and customer feedback to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
• Liaise with suppliers and distributors to maintain product quality, timely deliveries, and competitive pricing.
• Handle customer enquiries and resolve complaints with professionalism, maintaining Foodland’s reputation for exceptional service.
• Oversee stocktake, waste management, and ordering processes to minimise loss and maximise efficiency.
• Lead by example, fostering a positive and motivated workplace culture aligned with Foodland’s community values.

Employment Type: Full-time (38 hours per week)

Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 plus superannuation per annum

Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Business, Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent).
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in retail management or supervisory role, preferably in a grocery or supermarket setting.
