Now, due to steady growth, they're seeking a full-time Accountant to join their close-knit team and support the financial operations behind their thriving business.

About the Role:

This is a permanent full-time position offering a competitive annual salary ranging from $77,000 to $85,000 plus superannuation, depending on experience and qualifications. The role is based at their head office in Coburg North, VIC, and will play a key role in financial reporting, compliance, and business analysis across multiple business units.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Planning & Analysis

- Prepare cash flow statements and budgets
- Evaluate financial risks for capital investment projects
- Assist the Finance Manager in preparing annual budgets and quarterly forecasts
- Analyse financial figures and comment on discrepancies
- Analyse operating costs and expenditures, escalating findings to senior management for improvement
- Analyse business operations, trends, costs, and revenue

2. Accounting Systems & Internal Controls

- Develop and implement accounting and internal control systems
- Select appropriate accounting policies
- Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with prescribed policies and procedures
- Ensure the accuracy of information provided in financial statements

3. Financial & Special Purpose Reporting

- Prepare financial reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising accounting information for stakeholders.
- Prepare special purpose reports related to:

- Absorption
- Consolidation
- Mergers
- Capital financing
- Financial commitments and obligations (if required)

4. Compliance, Tax & Liaison

- Liaise with external accountants for the preparation of tax returns and Business Activity Statements (BAS)
- Liaise with external tax accountants and government authorities for auditing purposes

5. Payroll Management

- Supervise end-to-end payroll processing for 15+ employees on both a weekly and fortnightly basis

Job Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in accounting (or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years of accounting experience in a professional capacity within Australia
- At least 2 years of commercial experience using MYOB Accounting software
- Experience with Cargo wise is highly desirable (not mandatory)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- At least 2 years of commercial experience with company income tax and GST
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Shows initiative and strong problem-solving skills
- Proactive mindset with the ability to work independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong time-management skills and ability to work under pressure
