Job Description

- Develop and execute strategic communication plans aligned with organisational goals.

- Draft and distribute press releases, media statements, and other public relations materials.

- Manage relationships with media outlets and respond to media inquiries.

- Coordinate internal and external communications to ensure consistency in messaging.

- Collaborate with the marketing team to produce engaging content across digital and traditional platforms.

- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies and suggest improvements.

- Support event planning and promotional activities to enhance public engagement.

- Ensure all communications align with the organisation's values and objectives.

The Successful Applicant

A successful applicant should have:

- A degree or equivalent qualification in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.

- Proven experience in public relations, media liaison, or communications roles.

- Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail.

- Knowledge of the not-for-profit industry and its unique communication needs.

- Experience working with remote Indigenous communities highly regarded.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.

- Proficiency in using communication tools and platforms, including social media.
