- Lead strategic planning, modelling & optimisation initiatives
- Influence industry outcomes through collaboration & innovation
About HVCCC
Hunter Valley Coal Chain Coordinator (HVCCC) is a unique and vital organisation that works independently of individual interests to optimise the end-to-end performance of the Hunter Valley Coal Chain, one of the most complex, productive and efficient coal supply chains in the world.
On behalf of its members (the Hunter Valley coal producers and service providers), HVCCC synchronises supply chain planning and execution across a vast network of interdependent assets, from mines to vessels, using a combination of world-class modelling, forecasting, and integrated planning systems.
HVCCC is proud to have been named the state winner of the Business NSW Employer of Choice Award in 2023 and the Best Workplace Award in 2024 for exceptional employee engagement, wellbeing and progress.
With a collaborative team of 65 professionals, HVCCC is guided by a newly-approved Strategic Plan (2026–2030) that positions the business for its next phase of transformation, enhancing coal chain optimisation through advanced technologies, operational resilience and people-led change.
About the role
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and forming part of the Executive Leadership Team, the Capacity and Performance Manager plays a key role in providing strategic direction and leadership to optimise the Hunter Valley coal chain.
Partnering closely with the Service Delivery Manager to ensure the two divisions operate “as one mind”, the role is pivotal in building Member confidence through unified, pragmatic leadership.
Leadership wise, the position oversees two interdependent teams, Modelling and Continuous Improvement, together representing the analytical and transformation engine of HVCCC. The teams are responsible for long-term capacity planning, performance optimisation, and delivering actionable insights using advanced modelling and analysis.
A critical contributor to strategic decision‑making, the Capacity and Performance Manager chairs key industry committees and collaborates closely with stakeholders across the coal chain to maximise throughput and operational efficiency.
About you
You are a strategic and technically astute leader with a strong background in supply chain and logistics. Adept at navigating complexity, you can lead high‑performing teams, influence across industry, and deliver innovative solutions that drive measurable outcomes.
- Proven executive or senior functional leadership experience within complex, interdependent supply chain systems
- Demonstrated capability in continuous improvement, stakeholder engagement, and board‑level communication
- Strong people leadership with an ability to nurture growth and build resilience within technically capable teams
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with experience using modelling and data to inform strategy
- Proven ability to build trusted relationships with diverse stakeholders and influence at senior levels
- Commercial acumen with a focus on cost‑to‑customer impacts, budget accountability, and value creation opportunities
- Tertiary qualifications in supply chain, logistics, engineering or equivalent experience
You balance strategy with hands‑on execution, able to personally prepare technical reports and influence decisions at Board level. Above all, you represent neutrality and trust, ensuring the collective interests of all Members are advanced with integrity and transparency.
