About the Role

Babcock is seeking a driven Procurement Specialist to join our High Frequency Communications program - an initiative delivering critical upgrades to the Australian Defence Force's communications infrastructure. This is your opportunity to play a key role in a nationally significant program, supporting the full lifecycle of high-frequency systems that underpin secure and resilient defence operations.

In this role, you/'ll lead strategic procurement activity, managing supplier relationships and driving sourcing strategies that align with Babcock/'s commercial and operational objectives. You/'ll be at the forefront of contract negotiations, RFQ/RFI/RFT processes, and supplier performance management, ensuring every engagement delivers value, compliance, and innovation. Your expertise will help shape procurement plans, mitigate supply chain risks, and foster collaborative partnerships across internal and external stakeholders.

To be successful, you will bring:

- Australian Citizenship with a Defence security clearance (or the ability to obtain one).

- Proven commercial acumen and negotiator, with thorough understanding of category management, supply chain mechanisms and risk assessment.

- Proven supply base management and strategic sourcing skills in a highly complex and regulated environment.

- Technical, procurement or commercial knowledge of assets, goods and services applicable to maintenance, repairs or overhauls of equipment.

- Practitioner of procurement policies, processes and procedures related to category management.
