What you'll be doing

What you'll be doing

The handyman supports trades teams by delivering timely, cost-effective maintenance services aligned with the NSW Health guidelines and compliance standards.

- Assisting with general maintenance across health facilities.

- Supporting trade staff in daily operational tasks.

- Ensuring compliance with codes, legislation and safety standards.

- Contributing to efficient asset management practices.

Working conscientiously in alignment with WSLHD strategic and business goals.

Please note: This is a maintenance support role within the trades team, and not a cleaning role. Applicants with a cleaning background or seeking cleaning-related work need not apply, as this position requires specific trade support experience.

Selection Criteria:

- Demonstrated experience working with power tools and machinery.

- Demonstrated experience with following safe work procedures such as working at heights.

- Proven ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team-based environment and familiarity with standard trade terminology.

- Demonstrated ability to prioritise and undertake work in a busy environment with limited supervision.

- Ability to clearly communicate in both written and verbal form.

- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions from trades staff and management.

- Ability to use basic computer applications such as MS Outlook, Health Intranet system.

- Valid NSW Drivers Licence and willing to use it for work purposes.
