We’ve been recognised multiple times on Forbes’ list of the world’s most innovative companies.**About the Role**We are seeking an experienced and driven **Engineering Manager – Product Development** to lead our Mechanical and Electrical Product Design Engineering teams. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for delivering high-quality, standards-compliant products through robust engineering processes and continuous improvement initiatives.You will play a key role in shaping the future of our product development, mentoring emerging leaders, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.Key Responsibilities:* Lead and mentor cross-functional engineering teams in mechanical and electrical product design.* Oversee the development and release of products that meet Australian and international standards.* Champion continuous improvement in engineering processes, including gateway reviews, design checks, and testing protocols.* Approve and review engineering designs, drawings, and documentation for accuracy and compliance.* Collaborate with project managers to develop and manage project schedules and resource planning.* Drive initiatives to reduce product warranty claims and support cost-saving design strategies (VAVE).* Report on project and product development status to senior leadership.* Foster innovation through patentable and design-registrable product development.* Support cross-functional teams including production, purchasing, sales, and product management.* Build and maintain networks with affiliates to support shared learning and development.**About You**To be successful in this role, you will bring:* A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related field).* 10+ years of experience in electromechanical product development, including 5+ years in a leadership role.* Proven experience developing products compliant with Australian and international standards.* Strong knowledge of Agile, Scrum, and project management methodologies.* High proficiency in SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software.* Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.* Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.* Certifications such as PMP or Six Sigma are highly regarded.**What We Offer*** A collaborative and innovative work environment within a global industry leader.* Career development opportunities locally and internationally.* Competitive salary and benefits package.* The opportunity to lead impactful projects that shape the future of access solutions.**We are the ASSA ABLOY Group** Our people have made us the global leader in access solutions.
