We have an exciting opportunity for Materials Technician join our team on a full-time basis.

We are seeking highly motivated, self starters to join our team as a Material Technician with at least 2-5 years experience in a similar role in our workshops at various locations across Australia.

**The criteria for this position is as outlined below**:

- Ensure adherence to Safe Work Practices, according to Hofmann Engineering’s OH&S policies and the Occupational Health & Safety Act 1984;
- Ensure adherence to the Hofmann Engineering Quality Management system.
- Ensure adherence to the standards specified in the Quality Management Manual, Procedures and Work Instructions; to comply with the requirements of ISO9001.
- Ensure compliance and awareness of environmental legislation
- Perform a variety of non-destructive tests, including but not limited to ultrasonic testing (UT), magnetic particle testing (MT), penetrant testing (PT) and visual testing (VT).
- Maintain minimum level 2 NDT certification (i.e. VT, UT, MT, PT)
- Prepare test specimens, components, and structures for inspection according to established procedures and standards.
- Set up and calibrate testing equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results.
- Conduct tests in accordance with industry standards, regulations, and customer specifications.
- Interpret test results and accurately document findings in detailed reports.
- Collaborate with engineers, inspectors, and other team members to troubleshoot issues and address any discrepancies.
- Maintain testing equipment and ensure proper storage and handling to prevent damage or deterioration.
- Stay updated on advancements in NDT technology, techniques, and regulations through continuous learning and professional development.
- Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to junior NDT technicians to help develop their skills and expertise in non-destructive testing techniques. This may include demonstrating proper procedures, offering constructive feedback, and facilitating on-the-job training opportunities.
- Conducts tests on materials with the purpose of supporting metallurgists and materials engineers by doing research on metals, ceramics, polymers, and other materials, or as part of the processing and refining of minerals and metals.
