- Enjoy flexible working arrangements and ongoing professional development opportunities within an organisation that prioritises inclusivity, wellbeing, and personal growth.
- Work alongside knowledgeable colleagues in a supportive team setting where your input is valued, your skills are nurtured, and your achievements are recognised.

What you’ll do

As a Senior Infrastructure Services Officer based in Brisbane City, you will play an integral role in shaping the future of educational facilities across Queensland. Your day-to-day activities will involve managing diverse maintenance programmes—ranging from swimming pool upkeep to roof safety enhancements—while also leading process reviews aimed at improving contractor performance and stakeholder satisfaction. You will be responsible for coordinating complex projects from inception through completion within a robust legislative framework. Success in this role requires you to build enduring relationships with clients and service providers while contributing innovative ideas towards continuous improvement agendas. Your ability to prepare detailed reports for senior stakeholders will be crucial in informing strategic decisions. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to mentor colleagues and support their development as part of a close-knit team dedicated to delivering outstanding outcomes for Queensland’s education sector.

- Undertake comprehensive planning activities to develop implementation packages for school and early childhood facility upgrades across Queensland, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.
- Lead, manage, and coordinate all aspects of multiple complex projects and programmes, including financial oversight, human resource allocation, initial planning phases, construction processes, and commissioning within established legislative frameworks.
- Oversee both planned and unplanned maintenance programmes for critical infrastructure such as swimming pools, roof safety systems, and hydraulic installations like fire hydrants.
- Review existing processes related to contractor management and stakeholder engagement with end users of educational facilities, identifying opportunities for uplift and efficiency gains.
- Develop, maintain, and monitor strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, service providers, and internal teams to achieve high levels of client satisfaction throughout project lifecycles.
- Contribute actively to continuous improvement initiatives by assisting in the creation of business plans and refining processes to promote best practice service provision.
- Prepare clear, coherent reports, correspondence, and submissions that address politically sensitive issues for key stakeholders at various levels within the organisation.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to other staff members including administration and finance teams to ensure cohesive project delivery.
- Support colleagues through mentoring and training opportunities designed to foster knowledge sharing and professional growth within the team.
- Carry out additional duties consistent with the responsibilities of the position as directed by supervisors or nominated delegates.

What you bring

To excel as a Senior Infrastructure Services Officer you will bring substantial experience managing infrastructure projects or maintenance programmes—ideally within education or public sector settings—alongside a proven track record of engaging constructively with varied stakeholders. Your interpersonal skills will enable you to build trust-based relationships that facilitate collaborative solutions. You should possess advanced written communication abilities for preparing detailed reports on sensitive topics. A commitment to continuous improvement is essential; you will regularly review existing processes seeking efficiencies that enhance service quality. Your approach should reflect an understanding of governance standards while promoting inclusivity within your team. The ideal candidate is dependable under pressure yet empathetic when supporting colleagues’ development through mentoring or training initiatives. Your capacity for strategic thought combined with practical project delivery experience ensures you can navigate complexity while achieving positive outcomes for all involved.

- Demonstrated experience in project management within an infrastructure or asset management context, ideally involving educational or public sector environments.
- Proven ability to manage both planned and unplanned maintenance programmes across multiple sites or facilities with attention to detail and compliance requirements.
- Strong background in stakeholder engagement with diverse groups including contractors, end users, senior managers, and external partners.
- Excellent communication skills enabling you to prepare clear reports, correspondence, submissions, and provide sound advice on politically sensitive matters.
- Experience reviewing business processes related to contractor management or service delivery with a view towards continuous improvement.
- Ability to lead teams or sub-programmes effectively while providing mentorship or training support to colleagues as needed.
- Sound understanding of governance principles including risk management practices relevant to large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Commitment to fostering inclusive workplaces where health, safety, wellbeing are prioritised alongside operational outcomes.
- Capacity for strategic thinking—gathering insights from multiple sources—and applying them creatively towards problem-solving in complex environments.
