As part of our Perth Energy Team, you will have a real opportunity to contribute to projects that power communities, enable renewables, bolster transmission & distribution infrastructure and support our energy transition.As our **Senior Primary Electrical Engineer**, you will lead primary/high-voltage design efforts across major energy projects. You’ll be embedded in the Power Transmission & Distribution practice, working closely with clients, internal design teams, civil/structural/secondary systems, and other stakeholders to deliver safe, reliable, cost-effective primary electrical infrastructure designs.## **Your role will include:*** Lead the design of primary electrical systems: layout drawings, single line diagrams, schematics, equipment specification, for substations and transmission assets.* Advance designs from concept through to detailed design (AIS & GIS substations), including component selection (transformers, breakers, disconnectors, instrument transformers).* Perform technical studies/calculations: clearance, insulation coordination, earthing/grounding, thermal ratings, fault current studies.* Coordinate and integrate with civil, structural, secondary systems, protection & control systems to ensure a holistic, constructible design.* Ensure compliance with relevant standards, codes & guidelines (AS/NZS, IEC, IEEE or equivalents), client requirements, and regulatory approvals.* Review, mentor and provide technical leadership to more junior engineers and designers.* Contribute to tenders, feasibility studies, cost estimates, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.## **What we’re looking for from you:*** Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.* Significant experience (e.g. 7-12+ years) in high-voltage / primary electrical design for substations and/or transmission infrastructure.* Demonstrated hands-on experience with layout, schematics, equipment specification, design calculations and design documentation.* Strong knowledge of Australian and international standards governing high voltage/substation design.* Capability in working within multi-disciplinary design teams, coordinating with civil/structural, secondary systems, protection & control.* Excellent technical communication skills, report writing, and ability to lead design reviews.* Proven ability to manage multiple deliverables, stakeholder expectations, and deadlines.* Professional registration or working toward (e.g. CPEng or equivalent) desirable.## **What we offer:*** Opportunity to work on large scale, impactful energy infrastructure projects as part of WA’s energy transition.* A collaborative, diverse and inclusive environment where technical excellence is valued and your ideas matter.* Structured professional development, mentoring, and opportunities to grow your technical leadership.* Flexible work arrangements, responsive to balance and wellbeing.* Competitive remuneration package commensurate with experience and skills.If you’re a **Senior Primary Electrical Engineer** who thrives in challenging technical environments, enjoys leading the primary design work on energy projects, and wants to be part of shaping WA’s energy future, we’d love to hear from you.Apply now via our website## **Our purpose is bringing ideas to life.**.
