Overview

We are pleased to invite internal candidates to apply for the role of Shift Team Leader - B Crew at Gladstone. In this role, you will lead a shift team of Production Operators to safely meet production targets, support and guide your team to achieve strong individual and team performance, and work closely with the Gladstone Maintenance, Technical, Mine and Management Teams to achieve common goals. This is a key leadership role within our Production team with day and night shift rotation following the current lifestyle roster shift pattern.

Responsibilities

- SHE: Ensure the safety, welfare, and environmental compliance of all Production Teams by implementing relevant policies, procedures, and risk assessments to prevent license breaches and uphold environmental standards.
- Operational Management: Direct the day-to-day work for the team, assign tasks, and provide leadership to maintain and operate the plant to meet production targets at the lowest cost, including coverage during leave.
- Quality Control: Ensure quality targets are met with timely troubleshooting and escalation of deviations.
- Performance: Drive performance and innovation by championing plant and performance improvement ideas.
- Collaboration: Work with Central Control Operators and Production Shift Engineers to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Maintenance: Support plant maintenance activities through plant checks, ensuring notifications, isolations and permitting requirements are met.
- Contractor Supervision: Supervise and direct the work of contractors and other third-party resources as required.

What You’ll Bring (Qualifications)

- 5+ years of leadership or acting-up experience in production/heavy industry environments
- Proven track record in supervising or mentoring operational teams, with the ability to influence, coach, and motivate individuals
- Practical experience in applying workplace health, safety, and environmental compliance requirements
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to act quickly under pressure
- Sound knowledge of plant and equipment
- Experience supervising contractors and managing third-party resources
- Commitment to teamwork and continuous improvement
- Demonstrated desire to work in/create and contribute to a positive team environment
