About the role

Leads and coordinates midwifery care within the Women’s Assessment Service. Reports to the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager and supports safe, high-quality, patient-centred care through effective leadership, collaboration and continuous improvement.

Key duties of the role

- Lead and coordinate midwifery care across the Women’s Assessment Service

- Guide, support and develop staff to achieve positive clinical outcomes

- Foster teamwork, innovation and a safe, supportive work environment

- Manage resources, staffing and daily operations within budget

- Drive quality improvement, risk management and evidence-based practice

Skills and Experience

- Registered Nurse/Midwife with current AHPRA registration

- Minimum 3 years’ post-registration experience in midwifery practice

- Proven leadership, communication and team coordination skills

- Strong clinical knowledge and ability to mentor and support others

- Skilled in managing workloads, problem solving and decision making
