As a Fixed-Term (12 months) Graduate Health & Safety with Orora Cans, working at both office and site-level, you will assist with the implementation and maintenance of Health and Safety processes and initiatives; as well as assist our operational teams with site safety support and tasks. You will have the opportunity to shadow leaders, develop a deep knowledge of essential functions within the Cans Division, and assist in the development of SOPs across the network with the support of the HSE group.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop an overall understanding of the manufacturing plant
- Technical Development – build technical expertise by completing different tasks under supervision to further enhance skills and development.
- Support in the delivery of the Health and Safety Management System
- Support the sites meeting their HSE compliance obligations
- Senior Leadership exposure – connect with and build relationships with site leaders, the Cans Leadership team and our Cans Executive team throughout the program.
- Mentoring – ongoing career and professional development support with SME & leadership team members during the program.
- Assist in the creation of risk assessments.
- Develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills by working on real business cases, recommending solutions, and discussing your outcomes with our Safety Lead
- Travel to Orora Cans Manufacturing facilities across Australia as required

About You

- A degree in Occupational Health & Safety, looking to commence a Career in the Manufacturing industry
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Organisational and planning skills
- Ability to work closely with site team members
- A hands-on approach to getting things done in a safe manner and as part of a team
- A self-starter with the ability to work independently
- Strong IT skills (MS office suite- Word, Excel, PowerPoint & MS Projects)
- Ability to Conduct risk assessments
