Role Responsibilities
To continue to deliver for our community, we are seeking an experienced, committed and enthusiastic Lead Early Childhood Teacher to perform the responsibilities of the Nominated Supervisor and lead our teaching team at our Teesdale Kindergarten.
Teesdale Kindergarten operates from a single room 33 place Facility located adjacent to Turtle Bend on the Bannockburn-Shelford Road. The kindergarten with a lovely spacious outdoor area also accommodates Maternal and Child Health consultation room and has strong relationships with Teesdale Primary School.
In this role you will work 26.5 hours per week with an additional hour per week available for dedicated training. Your hourly rate will range between Teacher Level 2-3 (dependent on experience) with additional Teacher-In-Charge allowances.
This role will provide you the opportunity to:
- Provide leadership in the operation of Golden Plains Shire Council’s Kindergarten services and delivery of multiple Early Childhood programs to ensure quality and purposeful programs are developed and implemented.
- Act as the primary liaison for the Parent Volunteer Committee, fostering a collaborative relationship that supports ongoing quality improvement initiatives and creating opportunities for community engagement for the families and children within the service.
- Ensure a safe, caring and stimulating environment exists for all children and that the health and wellbeing of each child is a priority.
- Assess and document children's progress
- Provide leadership in the development of a culture that values and actively uses collaboration, reflective practice and feedback as tools to improve performance.
Requirements
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Proven skills in co-ordinating and delivering Early Childhood educational programs, and leading and mentoring a diverse team of educators, fostering an environment of collaboration, support and professional development.
- A comprehensive knowledge of the current Education and Care Services National Regulations and the Education and Care Services National Law Act.
- Demonstration of provision of a safe, warm and welcoming environment for the children where each child’s health is promoted and protected.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of contemporary practice relating to inclusion of vulnerable children, children who are Aboriginal or from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds or have a disability.
- Well-developed leadership skills with the ability to plan and organise one’s own work, delegate tasks to team members and monitor progress to achieve specific objectives.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively and gain the co-operation and assistance of others.
