Role Overview
We are seeking dedicated and passionate casual academic staff to assist with the delivery of our program in Semester 1, 2026. Casual rates aligned with the University of Adelaide Enterprise Agreement and an employer contribution of 12% superannuation will apply.
Available Roles
- Professionalism & Leadership: Delivers professionalism, leadership and communication content to students in Years 1-3.
- Clinical Practice: Demonstrates and provides feedback on clinical and communication skills to students in Years 1 and 2. Availability required on Tuesday (Year 1) or Thursday (Year 2) for either half or full day.
- Scenario Based Learning: Leads small‑group learning sessions; enables students to apply knowledge and develop clinical reasoning. Availability required on Wednesday & Friday (half days) or Monday & Thursday (half days).
Responsibilities
Teaching students at the Adelaide Health & Medical Sciences building on North Terrace and potentially at NALHN. Upkeeping academic quality and integrity of the program in consultation with Program Director, Course Coordinators and Domain Leads. Participate in peer review and ongoing review of teaching, and assume associated marking responsibilities varying by role.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience of undergraduate teaching in medical education
- Demonstrated experience of student support
- Experience in assessment of student performance
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with learning management systems and information technologies to support student learning
- An MBBS (or equivalent) is essential for the Clinical Practice or Professionalism and Leadership roles
