Clinic Drivers

Mala’la Health Service is currently seeking expressions of interest from community members who may be interested in joining the Clinic’s casual driving pool as Clinic Drivers. This role would involve covering shifts across various hours, including nights, afternoons, and weekends.

The main role of the job is to provide safe and practical transportation for the clients accessing the Clinic services.

You will need to have:

- Current Driver’s License
- Satisfactory Criminal History Check
- Ability to obtain NT Working with Children Clearance OCHRE card
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision

Mala’la is looking for a general practitioner to join the team at the Manayingkarírra Primary Health Care Centre to provide high quality primary health care services to the residents of Maningrida and the surrounding outstations.

About us

The Primary Health Care Centre transitioned to Aboriginal Community Control in February 2021. As an integral member of the team you will have the opportunity to work in a program-based service delivery model, working with teams to support client care in various portfolios such as Chronic Conditions, Rheumatic Heart Disease, Healthy Under 5s, Women’s, Men’s, Children’s, and Mental Health programs. We also provide Acute & Emergency Care during clinic hours and a nurse-run 24 hour on-call response.

Regular Allied Health visits include physiotherapy, speech pathology, diabetes educator, dental, optometry, podiatry and audiology. We are one of few remote clinics that has an on-site pharmacist and we host a large number of visiting specialist services, specialist telehealth and case conferencing.

Day to day, you will provide primary medical services and will work closely with a dedicated and supportive team of nurses, Aboriginal workforce and the wider community to support improved health outcomes, incorporating holistic and culturally respectful care.

What we offer

You’ll be rewarded with

- Annual full-time salary package: $340,000 plus superannuation and salary sacrifice options
- Base Salary range: $201,131 to $219,123 (depending on experience)
- Attraction Allowance of $41,948 (a one-off payment only in the first year of employment and paid fortnightly)
- Annual Retention Allowance: $41,948 (paid at the completion of each 12 months of service)
- Medicare Incentive payment: 50% of fees generated up to a maximum of $50,000 per annum – payment will be made once a minimum of $200,000 has been generated in Medicare fees in a given financial year. A further 50% of fees generated up to a maximum of $50,000 per annum will be paid should $400,000 in Medicare be generated. This means there is a potential to earn up to a maximum of $100,000 in Medicare incentive payments within a financial year
- Professional Development: 10 days per year
- Salary Sacrifice: up to the grossed‑up cap of $30,000 as per ATO guidelines
- Employer Superannuation contribution up to the salary level of the maximum contribution as per ATO taxation guidelines
- Relocation / repatriation expenses will be provided where applicable
- Annual Travel Allowance: $4,000 (this would not apply should a FIFO arrangement be negotiated)
- Vehicle provided – this is to be used for program service delivery during the day
- Accommodation provided, including utilities
- Recreation leave: six weeks per year plus 17.5% leave loading
- Personal leave: 10 days per year

Located 500km east of Darwin on the West Arnhem Land coast, the community sits on the lands of the Kunibídji people and is one of the largest remote communities in Australia, with more than 13 Aboriginal languages spoken locally.

Casual Remote Area Nurses (RANs) – Acute, Chronic, Child Health

Mala’la Health Service is seeking experienced Remote Area Nurses to join our dynamic, multi-disciplinary team in Maningrida, NT. As a Remote Area Nurse (RAN), you will provide high quality, evidence-based care; education for assigned health programs (e.g. Chronic Disease, Child Health, RHD); and participate in routine service delivery of vaccinations to the community through our community outreaches.

What will you be doing

We are looking for a Clinical Operations Administration Officer to:

- Implement and maintain support systems and processes, including procurement, organisation of staff accommodation and maintenance, and day-to-day support for staff and visiting clinicians.
- Troubleshoot day-to-day operational issues with the Clinical Operations Coordinator and the Primary Health Care Manager.
