What you’ll do

- Draft high-quality content aligned with RAA’s advocacy and thought leadership agenda, including speeches, briefing notes, submissions, and media releases.
- Monitor media activities and emerging trends, providing insights and recommendations on how to address key issues.
- Help create engaging content for media, social media, and digital platforms to promote RAA’s advocacy efforts.
- Review and enhance the advocacy content on RAA’s websites, ensuring it effectively communicates RAA's positions and activities to members.
- Contribute to the development of accessible public policy positions for RAA’s leaders and spokespeople.
- Draft public policy positions aligned with RAA’s key advocacy priorities and strategic goals.
- Conduct research and analysis on emerging issues, providing written and verbal insights and recommendations to support advocacy efforts.
- Monitor parliamentary and government activities, staying informed on new developments and offering recommendations on how they may impact RAA.
- Support other functions within the Government & Public Policy and Corporate Communications teams, contributing to RAA’s overall advocacy and communication strategies.
- Assist in the ongoing development and execution of communication strategies to enhance RAA’s visibility and impact in the public policy space.

What we're looking for

- Undergraduate Degree in public policy, political science, communications or other relevant discipline (Obtained in 2024 or due to complete in 2025)
- Experience in customer service, retail and/or hospitality is highly desirable
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including ability to craft compelling arguments in policy proposals, submissions and briefings
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a high quality of work
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence
- High attention to detail, with a strong work ethic and self-motivation
- Teamwork demonstrated through extracurricular activities (e.g. sports, clubs, work, societies)
- GPA of 5.0 or higher (credit average)
