Accountant - (for Transport Business)

We're helping one of our precious clients to find a best match for the position of Accountant in their transport business. The client is operating their business in the City of Greater Geelong and offering handsome salary package to the best candidate.

Job Responsibilities:

- Responsible for all asset portfolio operational, transactional, accounting, and reporting needs in order to meet Group standards.
- Month, quarter, and financial closing processes are within your control, including accruals, journal entries, management reports, monthly
calendars, and deviation analysis.
- Work closely with auditors on audit schedules and yearly statutory financial statements, among other things.
- Perform a review of the financial reports, emphasising, addressing, and resolving any concerns that occur.
- Manage all tax concerns, including BAS and tax reporting with the ATO.
- Preparation of quarterly distribution computations and yearly asset portfolio reconciliations.
- Working knowledge and expertise with inter-company transactions and reconciliations is required.
- In compliance with Group Policy, conduct credit reviews of vendors, consultants, and consumers.
- Participation in the budgeting and forecasting processes, as well as cash flow monitoring, are among the other responsibilities.
- Participate in the process implementation and improvement.
- Responsible for other ad hoc finance/accounting responsibilities as needed by the organisation.

Qualifications/Experience requirements:

- Relevant Degree in accounting with solid working knowledge of local accounting standards.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant hands-on experience in accounting function is required.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel is strongly desirable.
- The work experience in Transport Industry is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of the accounting Software such as XERO, MYOB would be desirable.
- Ability to collaborate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent communication abilities, both written and vocal.
- In a fast-paced atmosphere, you must be responsible, careful, analytical, organised, and able to work alone.
