Overview

As an Employment Consultant you will use your skills to support and guide clients to attain suitable, meaningful employment opportunities that lead to sustainable employment outcomes. You will use your customer service skills to build rapport with your clients, assist them on their employment journey and to overcome barriers to employment. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders as part of managing the referral & intake process of job seekers into their chosen program with MatchWorks. Provide pre-employment assistance through vocational counselling, training, job search skills, and work trials/work experience to increase capacity for employment. Reverse marketing of job seekers to achieve sustainable employment opportunities.

Operational hours: Full-Time, ongoing - business hours 9-5pm.

Pay banding: $65k-$79k + Super + Salary Packaging. Not-for-profit: Salary packaging up to $15,900 per annum each FBT year plus further meals and entertainment benefits up to $2,649 pa.

Responsibilities

- Assess job seeker skills, abilities, identification of barriers and intervention strategies.
- In consultation with job seekers, develop and maintain work preparation strategies, job seeking strategies, tailored interventions (including other service providers) and employment support activities.
- Engage in reverse marketing of job seekers to achieve sustainable employment opportunities.
- Provide pre-employment assistance through vocational counselling, training, job search skills, and work trials/work experience.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders as part of the referral & intake process.

Skills & Experience

- Self-driven, resilient, and experienced in customer service with the ability to move agilely through a to-do list.
- Experience within the Employment Services sector is advantageous, but not essential; strong induction and support network provided.
- Strong communication, attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to use computer systems, with accurate data entry and note taking.
- Build rapport and maintain relationships with clients, peers, and job seekers.
- Like achieving KPI’s – focus on securing meaningful work for vulnerable job seekers.
- Hold a current NDIS Worker Screening check or be willing to obtain one.
