Data and Voice Communication Apprenticeship

The Opportunity

Partnered with our host RDH Integration Services, we are seeking a Data and Voice Communications Apprentice to start their career in the communications technology industry and earn aUEE30420 Data and Voice Communications qualification.

This position is full-time, and based in Glenvale, Toowoomba.

RDH Integration Services is a premier provider of integrated technology solutions across Australia. They focus on delivering high-quality services in Mobile Boosting, CCTV Installations, Microwave Links, Wi-Fi, Starlink, and Agricultural and Industrial Networks.

You will be mentored by industry professionals while completing a blend of on-the-job training and theory coursework and working all over the Toowoomba region.

Your duties will include:

- Develop and deploy LANs, WANs, VoIP systems, and other network infrastructure
- Select appropriate hardware, software, and network topology based on organisational needs
- Continuously monitor network performance to identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies
- Conduct regular system audits and performance reviews
- Identify and resolve hardware and software issues
- Run diagnostics, document problems and solutions, and escalate critical issues when needed
- Implement and maintain security protocols to protect data transmission
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations
- Work closely with network architects, IT teams, and end-users to optimise system performance

About You

The successful candidate will be motivated to learn. Having a Certificate II in Electrotechnology is helpful but not essential.

You must have excellent communication skills and be ready and willing to undertake physical work in both indoor and outdoor settings. You will be willing to travel.

Being motivated with the right attitude to undertake this trade is essential.

In addition to these qualities, you will:

- Have completed a minimum of year 10 with good results in English and Mathematics
- Have a driver's licence
- Be safety-minded
- Be well presented
- Have excellent listening skills and able to follow instructions
