Built Environment Collective (BEC) is an Australian-based multi-disciplinary Engineering & Project Management Design Consultancy. We believe in strong client relationships, a collaborative approach to project delivery and ensuring everyone has the opportunity to reach their full potential.

The Position:

We are looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to manage the Company’s finance activities. Working closely with the Company Directors, this role is responsible for:

- Day-to-day financial operations of the business, including accounts payable & accounts receivable
- Closing of monthly/yearly financial accounts
- Invoicing and management of debtor processes
- Statutory compliance preparation including PAYG, FBT, BAS, Payroll Tax & EoFY reporting
- Financial reporting including debtors, P&L, balance sheet, cashflow forecasts etc
- Operational expense management
- Providing accurate financial data to guide strategic decision making
- Liaison with external Bookkeeper & Accountant
- Improving & further automating existing processes

What you’ll need to succeed:

- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a commercial accounting role
- CPA/CA Qualified
- Strong knowledge of taxation law & employment taxes
- High degree of competency using Xero, MS Excel & MS Office suite
- Professional Services experience preferred
- Experience using WorkflowMax, job management software, an advantage
- Confidence communicating with management, staff, clients & external stakeholders
- Demonstrated decision making & problem-solving skills including the ability to plan, prioritise & meet financial deadlines, working flexibly & cooperatively as part of a team
