Warden's Court Services Officer (02169540) – Permanent Appointment

The role

As a Warden’s Court Services Officer, you will deliver comprehensive administrative support for all operations of the Warden's Court. This includes receiving and processing applications related to mining tenements, dealings, and other submissions governed by the Mining Act 1978 and related mineral tenure legislation.

Success depends on your ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation, provide exceptional customer service, and work effectively in a team with minimal supervision. You will exercise sound judgment, initiative, and discretion, and perform a broad range of administrative tasks using computer systems with attention to detail. A clear understanding of court procedures is essential.

Eligibility and requirements

Permanent appointment eligibility: Australian citizen, permanent resident, or visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia at the time of application. Applications with a temporary visa may be considered for similar fixed-term vacancies that arise.

Fixed-term eligibility: Australian citizen, permanent resident, or visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia, or a visa to live and work for the duration of the term.

Qualifications: provide certification and/or academic transcripts to verify relevance. Australian qualifications must be assessed by the Overseas Qualifications Unit if obtained overseas (free service).

Pre-employment checks: consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC); DMPE will coordinate and pay for the NCCHC if you are deemed suitable.

To work for DMPE, you must consent to the NCCHC prior to starting.

- Ability to understand and apply legislation.
- Experience in delivering customer service and working collaboratively in a team with minimal supervision; demonstrates initiative and discretion.
- Proficiency with computer systems to perform administrative duties with attention to detail.
