Overview

We have a full-time fixed term opportunity based inour Bunbury depot for an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Tradesperson.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the electrical and instrumentation services including installation, testing, maintenance, fault finding, repair and commissioning of all Water Corporation’s assets mainly within the Wellington District, with occasional work across various areas of the Southwest Region.

We are seeking an individual who takes ownership of their work area and can work effectively independently but also contributes to a positive team environment and safety culture.

This fixed term employment opportunity runs until 30th June 2026.

What you can expect with this role

- Keep Systems Running Smoothly. Perform both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance while installing essential electrical and instrumentation components in Water/Wastewater Systems.
- Master Advanced Systems. Execute advanced fault finding on PLC, SCADA, Instrumentation, and communication systems with confidence. Installation of new Switchboards, Cabinets, Soft Starters, Pumps, transmitters, cabling and associated electrical and instrumentation components in Water / Wastewater and Drainage systems.
- Lead & Mentor. Supervise, support, and help develop apprentice and team members to strengthen overall expertise.
- Problem-Solving at Its Best. Plan tasks effectively while tackling water operational challenges head-on. Undertake complex isolation and shutdowns of Water/Wastewater systems.
- Grow Your Skills. Stay ahead with all necessary training to enhance your knowledge and capabilities.
- High Voltage Expertise (desirable). Carry out High Voltage switching when needed, ensuring operational efficiency.

Key skills and experience

- Electrical Trade Certificate
- Instrumentation Certificate
- High Voltage Certificate (desirable, not essential)
- WA C Class Drivers Licence (HR highly regarded)
- EWP high risk license (desirable, not essential)
- Trained in Confined Space Entry, Atmospheric Monitoring and Working at Heights
