An exciting and rewarding opportunity is available for a suitably qualified Dietitian to join the Allied Health team at Portland District Health.

You are responsible for delivering safe and effective personal care and clinical care, in accordance with the consumer’s needs, goals and preferences to optimise their health and well-being. You practice and deliver dietitian services across the acute, subacute, outpatient, aged care, and community based settings within Portland District Health. You support the development of clinical skills in staff placed under your responsibility. You contribute to the quality, safety and risk management programs for the clinical unit/department. You contribute to an environment that is conducive to deliver the four quality goals which are focused on putting the consumer first in everything we do. Responsibilities

- Deliver safe and effective personal and clinical dietetic care in line with consumer needs, goals and preferences.

- Provide dietitian services across acute, subacute, outpatient, aged care and community settings.

- Support the development of clinical skills in staff under your responsibility.

- Contribute to quality, safety and risk management programs for the clinical unit/department.

- Contribute to an environment that delivers the four quality goals focused on putting the consumer first (PDH Care).

About you

- Possession of a tertiary qualification and accreditation as a Dietitian with membership or eligibility for membership with Dietitians Australia.

- Working towards a Post Graduate clinical qualification in a speciality area of practice.

- Significant level of clinical knowledge, skills and leadership experience in dietetics.

- Demonstrated sound clinical assessment and analysis skills and knowledge, and ability to implement indicated treatments for individuals and groups.

- Understanding of relevant accreditation and funding systems, and demonstrated ability to manage continuous improvement portfolio.

- Demonstrated computer literacy, including ability to access and utilise organisational IT systems and emerging technologies relevant to clinical care.

About us

Portland District Health (PDH) provides an integrated health service for the community. The hospital was established in 1856 on the current site and now provides a comprehensive range of services that include:

- Hospital based Medical and Surgical services, Medical Imaging (Radiology), Pharmacy and Pathology

- A 24/7 Urgent Care Centre for emergency treatment

- Residential aged care for 30 residents at Harbourside Lodge

- An extensive range of primary and community services for the local community

PDH delivers services from a single campus, employs around 470 staff with an FTE of approximately 290, and has an active volunteer workforce. The People and Culture Unit sits within the Corporate Services Directorate, with other Units including Finance, Building Services, Food Services, Environmental Services, Executive Support, Administration and Health Information.
