As an Assistant House Supervisor, you’ll play a vital leadership role in shaping lives and supporting our dedicated team of Residential Care Workers. You’ll take charge of the day‑to‑day care and wellbeing of the young people in our care, stepping in when the House Supervisor is off shift or not present.

As part of the Out of Home Care Program, you’ll work closely with the House Supervisor to ensure consistent, high‑quality care that truly makes a difference.

We have a Permanent Full Time (38 hours per week) opportunity based in a suburb around Bendigo within our Out of Home Care program. The position reports to the House Supervisor. This position works on a fortnightly roster, penalties are paid on top of the hourly rate.

Key Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people and their families.

- Relevant Diploma with experience.

- Demonstrated ability to supervise, lead and support a team of residential care workers.

- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the residential care field, particularly within a therapeutic environment.

- Proven ability to relate to and work with young people with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.

- Proven skills and experience in development of behavioural management programmes for children and adolescents with challenging behaviours.

You must have a:

- Valid and current Driver’s Licence;

- Satisfactory Criminal History Check (paid for by MacKillop);

- Valid Employee Working with Children Check;
