Due to continued growth, the firm is seeking an experienced Senior Family Lawyer to take on a leadership role, mentoring junior lawyers while handling high-value transactions and advisory work. The Opportunity

Senior Family Lawyer

Our client is seeking an experienced 10+ PAE Family Lawyer to step into a Head of Family Law role and join a dedicated family law team. This is an amazing opportunity for a senior practitioner who enjoys mentoring others, driving business development and delivering exceptional client outcomes.

You’ll join a talented family law team including a Junior Lawyer and one Paralegal, managing a high-quality mix of parenting, property, divorce and domestic violence matters. You will play a pivotal role in recruiting more for your team and building the family law practice in Brisbane. This role offers reasonable billable targets to allow time for business development, team management and strategic input into the firm's future growth.

This position is ideal for an experienced Senior Associate/Special Counsel - Family Lawyer ready to step into a leadership role, or an existing Partner seeking a new challenge with genuine influence and autonomy.

Key Requirements

- 10+ years PAE in Family Law, with strong leadership experience

- Accreditation is highly desirable

- Proven expertise in property settlements, parenting disputes, divorce, and DV matters

- Ability to lead and mentor junior team members

- Comfortable with business development and client relationship management

- A collaborative and driven mindset

As a key senior leader, you will have the opportunity to mentor and develop junior lawyers, oversee complex matters, and contribute to the firm’s strategic growth.

About You

You must love a challenge and want to excel in your role as Head of Family Law. An individual who has a passion for family law and mentoring juniors is highly sought. It is required that you can achieve 5-6 billables at minimum and also have a good driven and attitude towards work.
