About the Position:
The Accountant role at DPS Accounting Solutions is a pivotal position within our client-focused team, responsible for delivering comprehensive accounting and tax services to a diverse portfolio of clients in Perth. This full-time role involves preparing financial statements, tax returns, and reports, while providing expert advice to support clients’ financial goals. As a key contributor to our paperless, technology-driven practice, the Accountant ensures compliance with Australian taxation laws and enhances client outcomes through strategic insights, playing an essential role in upholding DPS’s reputation for excellence and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and lodge individual, partnership, trust, and company tax returns in compliance with Australian taxation laws.
Prepare and review financial statements, Business Activity Statements (BAS), Instalment Activity Statements (IAS), and payroll reports for clients.
Conduct reconciliations and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
Provide clients with professional advice on taxation, accounting, and business matters.
Assist clients in the setup and management of cloud-based accounting systems such as Xero and MYOB.
Ensure all work is completed in accordance with internal procedures, quality standards, and deadlines.
Liaise with clients, the Australian Taxation Office (ATO), and other stakeholders to resolve queries and provide timely updates.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and documentation.
Support the implementation of process improvements and contribute to the development of internal accounting practices.
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CA/CPA qualified or working towards preferred).
Minimum 2 years of experience in a public practice accounting environment.
Proficiency in cloud-based accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or MYOB.
Strong understanding of Australian taxation laws and compliance requirements.
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail in financial reporting and reconciliations.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to build client relationships and collaborate with stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proactive problem-solving skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality client service.
