About this role

Responsibilities

Reporting to the IT Manager – APAC, the Network Administrator will maintain Applied Medicals corporate network infrastructure including Cisco switches, HP Switches, Cisco ISR Routers and Cisco ASA/Firepower Firewalls and other non-Cisco equipment. You will perform varied and highly skilled activities, requiring thorough understanding of systems and related services, projects and activities. You will provide guidance to managers in the daily execution of their duties, offering constructive and timely feedback. You will also be responsible for departmental adherence to standards, best practices and company policies and procedures.

- Configure IP networks consisting of switches, routers, firewalls, and network monitoring devices.
- Manage daily operations of IP networks.
- Maintain corporate network infrastructure including IOS and Nexus Cisco switches, HP Switches, Cisco ISR Routers and Cisco ASA/ Firepower Firewall and other non- Cisco networking equipment.
- Act as an Implementor/Designer for network solutions in coordination with peer Network Engineers.
- Install and cable network equipment in the local Datacenter and multiple IDF's across the APAC location.
- Establish efficiency and efficacy standards, providing recommendations for improvement within the department.
- Understand technology trends, assess existing and emerging new ideas, in conjunction with the needs of the organization to evaluate, plan, and execute the necessary changes to the technology landscape.
- Design and execute complex change management activities in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.

About you

- 3-5 years experience or equivalent working as a Network Engineer.
- 5+ years experience or equivalent working in an IT or IT-related field.
- A history or success through levels of increasing responsibility.
- Advanced understanding of network services such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and Microsoft Active Directory.
- Advanced knowledge of routing protocols including EIGRP and BGP and the ability to troubleshoot routing issues with minimal supervision.
- Advanced practical knowledge of networking hardware including switches, routers and firewalls.
- Strong knowledge of VPN technology and the ability to support and troubleshoot Microsoft Always-on-VPN and Cisco Anyconnect solutions.
- Strong knowledge of Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI).
- Analyse and evaluate networks, identify issues and provide solutions to ensure networks are operating efficiently.
- Communicate network technical issues effectively to team members in other departments.
