As a Category Procurement Specialist, you’ll manage strategic sourcing activities across the Engineering category. This role will see you working closely with internal stakeholders to shape procurement strategies, deliver cost-effective outcomes and ensure supplier performance aligns with operational needs and business objectives. You'll also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, data-driven decision-making and procurement process optimisation.
Responsibilities
- Manage strategic sourcing activities across the Engineering category in a fast-paced, outcomes-driven environment.
- Work with internal stakeholders to shape procurement strategies and drive supplier performance.
- Deliver cost-effective outcomes while aligning with operational needs and business objectives.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and procurement process optimisation.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, category management or procurement in indirect spend areas
- A tertiary qualification in Procurement, Business, or a related discipline
- Strong negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management skills
- Experience sourcing services such as engineering, manufacturing or technical categories
- Understanding of procurement best practices, supplier performance management and contract negotiation
- Ability to manage cross-functional projects in a fast-paced, outcomes-driven environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365, ERP and eProcurement tools
- A commercial mindset and passion for creating procurement value beyond cost savings
