Our Council

Narromine Shire Council covers an area of 5264 km2 and has a population of approximately 6444 in the rural townships of Narromine, Trangie & Tomingley and the surrounding rural areas. Narromine is located 40km from the regional city of Dubbo.

About the position

Narromine Shire Council is seeking two (2) enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team as Part-Time Cleaners.

In this role, you’ll play an important part in ensuring Council’s facilities across Narromine are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene.

Duties include cleaning Council buildings and public facilities such as the Administration and Finance offices, Works Depot, Library, public conveniences, barbeque areas, and community halls as required.

Qualifications

- Class ‘C’ Drivers Licence
- General Construction Induction (CIC - White Card) NSW

Desirable qualifications

- Demonstrated knowledge of Sharps and Infectious Waste
- Experience in cleaning duties
- Experience in reading and interpreting the safe usage and storage of Chemicals and Cleaning Agents
- First Aid Certificate

Details

- Permanent Part Time Position approx. 20 hours per week. Various/Split Shifts where weekend work may be required
- The position is graded 4 within Council's salary structure
- The salary range is from $28.70 - $32.38 per hour plus any applicable allowances. The salary step is determined by an annual competency assessment
- Employment conditions are as per the Local Government (State) Award

Pre-employment screening

- Reference checks from your 2 work related referees
- Any other additional screening that may be relevant to the role
- Council will check the authenticity of certificates and qualification
