Our client, North Queensland Fresh Pty Ltd, is looking for experienced and reliable Fitters to join their team at their fresh produce packing shed in Gumlu, QLD.

About the Role:

Fitters will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving machinery and equipment used in fresh produce packing. This hands-on role includes mechanical maintenance, fabrication, general grounds work, and supporting food safety and hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Service and repair packing shed machinery and equipment
2. Monitor water treatment and chemical dosing systems
3. Perform scheduled and emergency maintenance tasks
4. Operate forklifts and assist in operator training
5. Carry out general site maintenance such as mowing, fencing, and pest control
6. Maintain accurate records and follow WHS and hygiene procedures

Requirements:

1. Minimum 3 years' relevant experience
2. Relevant trade qualification
3. Skills in welding, fabrication, and mechanical systems
4. Ability to read technical drawings and manuals
5. Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain)
6. QLD driver's licence (or willingness to obtain)
7. Chemical Accreditation (or willingness to obtain)
