As a Cook at Giuseppes, you’ll be responsible for preparing and presenting a variety of dishes with consistency, efficiency, and flair. You’ll work under the guidance of our Head Chef to ensure meals meet our quality standards and reflect the character of our menu.
Prepare and cook meals across all sections of the kitchen, following established recipes and service standards
Coordinate food preparation activities to ensure timely service during peak hours
Monitor cooking processes and adjust techniques to maintain quality and portion control
Assist in planning daily prep schedules and estimating ingredient requirements
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work areas in line with food safety regulations
Receive and store deliveries, checking for quality and stock rotation
Support menu development by contributing ideas for specials and seasonal offerings
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff as required
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a commercial kitchen, preferably with exposure to Italian cuisine
Sound knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen operations, and hygiene standards
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and adapt to changing service demands
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent (preferred but not essential)
Availability for evening and weekend shifts
