Education and Social Participation | Werribee Education | Casual
Multiple casual positions available – Immediate Start
Responsibilities
- Support clients to achieve learning outcomes at Werribee, Watergardens or Point Cook Education campuses
- Provide English learning support to newly arrived clients and existing students from Burmese, Vietnamese and Chinese-speaking backgrounds
- Provide learning support in digital essentials, pronunciation, and conversation for Humanitarian Settlement clients
- Assist in a range of educational contexts including one-on-one, small or medium groups, formal or informal settings
Qualifications and Selection Criteria
- At least two years' experience delivering information or training in formal and/or informal environments to clients from a CALD background
- Ability to speak Burmese, Vietnamese or Chinese languages
- A current valid Working with Children Check (Employee) for Victoria
- Flexibility to work in a variety of educational contexts
- Ability to think on one’s feet and stay calm when busy
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with empathy and sensitivity in a variety of settings
- Ability to respond flexibly to changing program requirements and client needs
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Professionalism appropriate to the role requirements
- Understanding of settlement issues and knowledge of services for newly arrived communities
- Ability to maintain good working relationships with a range of stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a diverse team
- Sound IT skills and comfort with digital resources
- Experience meeting strict program, regulations and standards requirements
- Commitment to values of integrity, reliability, teamwork and professionalism
Compensation and Benefits
Hourly rate is $39.40 plus 12% superannuation
