Taking an integrated approach to how everyone can thrive within their community and the wider Australian society, SSI supports children, young people and families; people living with disability; and asylum seekers, refugees and migrants. The organisation aims to improve the lifestyle, skills, and employment outcomes of those it serves, by building confidence and capability, and allowing people to achieve their full potential and change their lives. Services are designed to engage and empower community members, foster collaboration, and promote positive change, and include facilitating employment, multicultural foster care, creating community engagement, advocacy, influencing governments and international affairs, and provides thought leadership nationally and globally.

SSI has grown over the past two decades to deliver programs across three states, and with a dedicated research team informing its work and leading sector insights, the organisation has significant influence and is a respected advocate for disadvantaged individuals and communities.

Following SSI’s recent success in securing the Inclusive Employment Australia tender, the organisation has partnered with Parkhouse Bell to attract and recruit outstanding talent to join their team during this exciting period of growth and sector transformation.

About the Roles

Join SSI and make a difference through the new Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA) program

We have multiple opportunities available across the Southeast / Bayside region, that support asylum seekers, refugees, and people from CALD backgrounds to find and maintain meaningful employment. The roles available are:

- Employment Specialists – Manage a caseload of jobseekers with disability, helping them overcome barriers, build skills, and connect with employers to achieve sustainable employment.
- Community Advocates – Build networks and referral pathways, partnering with services, employers, and community groups to create inclusive employment opportunities for people with disability from refugee backgrounds.

All roles offer competitive salaries, attractive NFP salary packaging benefits and the opportunity to work a nine-day fortnight. In addition, SSI provides access to in-house wellbeing programs, training and learning opportunities for professional development and growth.

To succeed in these roles, you will bring

- Relevant sector experience – ideally within Employment Services (Disability Employment Services highly regarded), Workforce Australia, Transition to Work, Parent Pathways, or a similar transferable industry
- A passion for supporting people – experience working with disadvantaged cohorts, including those from culturally and linguistically diverse or refugee backgrounds, and/or lived experience of disability is valued
- Practical, hands-on skills – ability to mentor, coach and motivate jobseekers, build employer and community networks, and provide tailored solutions to help participants prepare for, secure, and sustain employment
- Strong relationship and engagement capability – whether you’re developing employer partnerships, engaging with community organisations, or providing post-placement support, you’ll be confident and personable, with strong communication and influencing skills
- Organised and outcome-focused – able to manage caseloads, maintain documentation, and meet compliance and KPI requirements while working flexibly across office, community, and employer settings
- Adaptability and resilience – comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing environment and collaborating across teams to achieve shared goals
- Licence and checks – a current driver’s licence and the ability to obtain a federal police clearance are required
