Position Information

Orange High School has proudly provided high quality learning experiences to students in Central Western NSW for over 100 years. Today, we educate up to 1000 students, 13% of which are Aboriginal, from within the regional city of Orange and its rural surroundings on Wiradjuri country. The foundation of our school community is based on honouring the past with respected traditions while creating the future. Teachers have the opportunity to guide students in discovering their talents and reminding our youth that they can make change. Our educators continually review and reform their teaching strategies to improve our external results in NAPLAN and the HSC by using evidence-based best practices to enhance academic outcomes.

Specific Selection Criteria

- Approval to teach Mathematics (7-10) and Mathematics (11-12).
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within the Mathematics faculty to develop effective and engaging teaching and learning programs for a diverse range of learners.
- Demonstrated ability to implement effective classroom management strategies and contribute to differentiated teaching and learning programs to maximise student growth and promote high expectations for all students.
- Capacity to implement the Department of Education Aboriginal Education policies and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal students.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
